Majimbo Kalasinga, the Kabuchai MP, has urged President William Ruto to stop lecturing Kenya Kwanza MPs like small boys.
Kalasinga stated that the Head of State should allow MPs to debate the Finance Bill independently and reach a conclusion.
“Being in Kenya Kwanza does not imply bearing the entire burden; the President should stop lecturing us on TV as if we were small boys,” he said.
The MP went on to say that President Ruto should delegate legislative authority to legislators.
“We are not small boys, please!”
His remarks were in reference to the contentious Finance Bill, 2023, on which members of parliament voted Wednesday evening following a lengthy debate.
The Bill passed the second reading stage with 176 MPs voting in favor of its passage and 81 MPs voting against it.
On June 4, the President stated that he will keep an eye on the MPs who vote against the bill.
