Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Alliance presidential candidate Raila Odinga and his Wiper Party counterpart Kalonzo Musyoka are expected to address a joint rally at Mukuru Kwa Njenga in Nairobi, on Thursday.

The meeting will mark Kalonzo’s return to the Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Alliance, barely a month after he announced that he had decamped.

“The information I am privy to is Kalonzo and Raila will address the nation together on Thursday,” a source aware of the plan, and who sought anonymity, said on Wednesday.

In a media invite, Dennis Onsarigo, press secretary for Raila Odinga’s campaign secretariat, also stated that Kalonzo will be officially returning to Azimio today at 11 a.m.

Junet Mohamed, secretary general of the Azimio Coalition, also announced that the coalition is planning a large rally.

“Azimio la Umoja one Kenya coalition party will address the nation tomorrow at 2 pm from Mukuru kwa Njenga,” Junet tweeted.

The development comes just a day after Kalonzo announced that he would make a major political announcement in two days.

While speaking in public for the first time after parting ways with Mr. Odinga when he lost the running mate position to Narc-Kenya leader Martha Karua, Mr. Musyoka said he would declare his final stand soon.

“I shall declare my stand on the presidency. This time round I shall make the final decision. I shall not spare anything. It will be a scorched earth policy so that we must save this nation,” he said.

Kalonzo was speaking to mourners at the funeral of Mzee Joseph Katithi in Kyawango village in Mwala, Machakos County, alongside Senators Agnes Kavindu (Machakos) and Enoch Wambua (Kitui).

The former vice president delivered tributes he claimed were from President Kenyatta, Mr. Odinga, Ms. Karua, and Kanu chairman Gideon Moi, sending the clearest signal yet that he was returning to Mr. Odinga’s camp.
