Rebel Jubilee Candidate In Tears After Being ‘Forced’ To Withdraw Her Resignation

Damaris Wambui Waiganjo, an aspiring Kiambaa member of parliament was allegedly forced back into Jubilee party, hardly a day after decamping to the United Democratic Alliance (UDA).

Ms. Damaris appeared at a press conference at the Elysian resort in Nairobi County, rebuking her actions, stating she acted out of rage after losing the nominations process to Karanja Kariri Njama.

“After soul searching, advice from supporters and political mentors, I have decided to withdraw my yester night’s remarks and remain in the Jubilee party and continue to support President Uhuru Kenyatta’s ideas,” Waiganjo stated.

Dennis Waweru, co-chairman of the BBI secretariat, and Kiambu Governor James Nyoro surrounded the contender as she spelt out her apologies to the party.

However, after the conclusion of her apology, Ms. Damaris walked away in tears as Dennis Waweru remained behind to address the press.

Dictatorship

The video has since elicited public reaction with a section of rebel Jubilee politicians crying foul at the dictatorship in Pangani.

“Damaris, a Jubilee candidate who feels she was rigged out of its nominations in Kiambaa, endorsed UDA. Here she is today recanting her statement flanked by Waweru (BBI) and Nyoro governor. She didn’t finish her statement before she burst out crying! poor lady. She cites intimidation,” Murang’a Senator Irungu Kang’ata.

Ms. Damaris attracted the attention of Jubilee officials after she appeared at a video in the UDA camp, citing she had been rigged out of the party’s nomination.

“To my dear followers, I have been chased out at the eleventh hour, I have no place to go, I cannot come and vie and ask to represent you because the timelines have been closed. We are in the 21st century, I cannot go to some people who have no ideas, no plans, no agendas, and explain to them what I want to do,” Waiganjo said.

Kiambaa elections are poised to make key voting decisions cum 2022, as the UDA party seeks to hold fort at Mount Kenya, which is a stronghold for the President’s Jubilee Party.
