Jubilee Leaders demand Murathe, Tuju Resignation Over Party Downfall

A segment of the Kiambu Jubilee political party’s members have accused vice chair David Murathe of running the organization like a personal property and have demanded that he resign immediately. – By Gerald Gekara.

They also suggested that party Secretary General Raphael Tuju be transferred to the parking lot, stating that the two are to blame for the party’s declining popularity.

They talked during a party consultation conference in Kiambaa sub county on Saturday, when they discussed how to campaign for the party’s candidate Kariri Njama ahead of the local parliamentary by election on July 15, 2021.

Members of the party campaigned for the candidate but expressed confidence that the party would receive 70% of the vote.

Abdi Hussein, a Ruaka local, said the party would not rely on foreigners to campaign for Njama, claiming that he is the most popular and qualified candidate.

Limuru MP Peter Mwathi dismissed claims that the Jubilee Party had ignored its Kiambaa parliamentary by-election candidate last week.

Those making the charges, he adds, are either misinformed or attempting to smear the identities of certain leaders in order to achieve political clout and possibly financial advantage.
