Motivational Speaker Denies Assaulting Wife

Vusi Thembekwayo has spoken out in response to charges that he physically abused his wife, which led to his imprisonment.

The businessman, who is known for his Twitter feuds with some of Mzansi’s greatest stars, is claimed to have had a furious altercation with his wife in their house, during which she claims he assaulted her after returning from Dubai.

According to City Press, he hauled his wife out of bed and instructed her to collect her belongings and leave his house.

The wife said Thembekwayo slapped her, dragged her down the stairs, and drove her to Midrand in a police report obtained by the newspaper.

She allegedly leapt out of the car and went to the cops when he came to a halt at a traffic signal.

She has filed a common assault charge against him with the Douglasdale Police Department.

After hitting the top of the trends list this weekend, Vusi issued a lengthy statement denying assaulting his wife.

“To address the news first-hand, I can confirm that I flew back to South Africa on 6 December 2021 — from an international trip to attend to a situation pertaining to my wife and her long-standing battle with substance abuse. The matter appeared in court this week and has been remanded and is being defended. At all times, I have cooperated with law enforcement to resolve this matter courteously and expeditiously.

“As it stands, I maintain my innocence and will prove this in the appropriate forum and trust the justice department to deal with it accordingly,” he wrote.
