Aspiring Nakuru Women Rep. Ann Ngirita has been arrested after a trusted individual withdrew surety.

Hon Eunice Nyutu (SPM) directed that Ann Ngirita be placed in custody after her former surety made an application to withdraw his security and requested the Court to issue back his title deed.

The magistrate said that surety is a freewill act and that any Court on Earth lacks the jurisdiction to force anyone act as a security. This came after Stephen who had volunteered his title deed to stand as surety made an application to withdraw the title deed.

It is not clear why Mr. Stephen took the direction.

“Counsel for the accused person stated that the application is an ambush, nevertheless this court cannot force a person to stand surety for another, it is supposed to be a voluntary act. The court is satisfied that the application has not been made in ill motive and the application is therefore granted. The accused person shall be placed in police custody until she can find another surety.” Ruled the presiding Magistrate Eunice Nyutu.

The surety in question is worth sh 500,000.

This later development comes after Ngirita announced her bid for Nakuru women rep via Jubilee party.

Ann Ngirita together with other accused persons are charged with defrauding sh 468 Million from the National Youth Service.

Among the other accused persons is former PS Lilian Omollo who also is aspiring for Embu County senator seat.
