High Court Declines To Stop Form One Selection

The High Court has declined to temporarily suspend the ongoing Form One selection pending a hearing of three cases challenging the 2023 released Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) results.

High Court Judge, Justice Lawrence Mugambi sitting at Milimani High Court on November 29 declined to issue conservatory orders suspending the selection that kicked off on Monday.

He consequently directed the cases filed over the alleged irregularities in the 2023 KCPE results to be heard on February 7, 2024.

The judge also ordered the petitioners from Kitengela International School and Set Greenhill Academy Mixed Day and Boarding and Junior School to serve the Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu and National Examinations Council with their pleadings within 14 days.

The directions by the judge come after parents from Kitengela International School moved to the High Court seeking orders to stop KNEC and the Ministry of Education from commencing the Form One selection exercise until their cases are heard and determined.
