Kenya Ports Authority(KPA) will today issue a timetable on the operations of the Likoni floating bridge.
The facillity was opened to the public yesterday following a presidential order. – By Faith Mutete.
KPA will operate the bridge on behalf of the Government multi agency team tasked with the management of the project.
The bridge was constructed by the China Road and Bridge Corporation.
Likoni residents ushered the new year 2021, literally walking across the sea, after President Kenyatta ordered the facility opened.
Today, the bridge will be opened up to 5pm.
The floating bridge has eased the pressure on Kenya Ferry Services(KFS).
KFS will mainly ferry vehicles accross the channel, further reducing congestion at Likoni.
Residents of Likoni have welcomed the move.
