Nairobi Man Arrested For Stealing Student IDs

A middle aged man namely, Felix Mwikya Mutua was today arraigned at Milimani Law Courts facing charges of stealing and unlawful possession of University Students IDs.

The suspect is said to have been arrested after an incident of suspected theft at the University of Nairobi.

At the time of arrest, the suspect was found to be in possession of 10 university of Nairobi Students ID cards belonging to various students at the University, 5 Catholic University of Eastern Africa Students ID cards,1 Kenya Methodist University Students ID, 3 KCA University students IDs and 6 MKU students IDs.

He was also accused of gaining entry to the University of Nairobi and stealing a HP elitebook laptop and a laptop bag valued at Ksh 40,000, a phone valued at Ksh 10,000.

Further, he was charged with illegally entering Catholic University of Eastern Africa on May 30,2021 and stealing a mobile phone valued at Ksh 16,500.

On March 15,2021, the accused is as well said to have gained entry to UON where he stole a mobile phone and a laptop both valued at Ksh 95,000.

On May 26,2021 the accused is further said to have stolen a laptop and a laptop bag from a University of Nairobi student all valued at Ksh 96,000.

Appearing before SPM Bernard Ochoi at Milimani Law Courts, the accused denied the charges.

He was released on Ksh 500,000 bond.
