Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei now wants the Directorate of Criminal Investigation(DCI) and Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) to investigate the issue of doping at the country’s athletes’ doors.
He argues that there is a conspiracy from foreign countries as well as individuals who have conspired to blackmail Kenyan athletes into giving them banned medicines so that Kenya can be banned from national athletics.
Cherargei called on the DPP, EACC and DCI to investigate the matter and those found guilty should be brought to justice.
The senator also blames agents, trainees, and dispensaries providing the drugs and wants them to be prosecuted and their working documents revoked.
